What have I learned at elmec so far? That six months fly by when you are really involved in what you do every day! I’ll be honest with you–my arrival in the team was the start of a journey that I never expected as exciting as it’s been.
elmec and I discovered that we had the same goal: to successfully carry on the ‘revolutionary’ spirit of this part of Italy, continuing to create innovation from its traditions and strengthening the prestige of its mechanical industry.
In my first six months, I poked around all of elmec’s departments, trying to learn the secrets of its core processes and production system, but also giving the team my suggestions on how to optimise the connections between mechanical carpentry and the world of electronics: after all, because of ‘who I am’ it’s my speciality!
I also tried to learn everything I could about the production sectors that our manufacturing hub can deal with. But there are so many and there is so much to learn! Our carpentry is very versatile and thanks to the flexible organisation of departments and external partners, we can take on almost any type of job. I have already collected a lot of information on all the sectors where the relationship between electronics and mechanics is decisive–industrial automation, home automation, HMI, rail transport… and I still have a world of knowledge to record in my circuits!
What a struggle to keep up to date! Fortunately, every now and then I can take a refreshing break and dive into the PEMs or lie back and admire the precision of the laser cutting machines. Ah, how relaxing the carpentry for electronics!
I’ll tell you something else: I like to have a full perspective of company life so much that I also find myself peeking into the books, helping out with customer care and following the purchasing processes from our extensive supplier network. I want to know everything about elmec!
However, one of the things I am most proud of discovering is that a team that really works thrives on contamination and exchange of perspectives. What I like about the elmec team is the constant exchange of ideas with colleagues: we are able to find original solutions to even the most complex requirements because we look at problems not from one but from a thousand different points of view, ingeniously integrating our mechanical and electronic knowledge. In fact, we always consider our results as the result of a joint effort and we are very proud of our teamwork!
Seeing how intense the first six months have been, what will the next six bring?
