Environmental sustainability, according to elmec

For us at elmec, the concept of sustainability means protecting the environment, enhancing the local area and safeguarding its ecological, economic and social resources. Indeed, creating a model of sustainable industrial development involves the construction of processes that can fully satisfy present needs, leaving the same opportunity to future generations.

In order to achieve this invaluable result, we are committed to reducing our impact on the Planet every day, taking different paths that are all oriented towards the same goal. Today we are powered by 20 kw of solar energy and we have replaced all our lighting fixtures with LED systems with high energy efficiency and a high degree of visual comfort.

The metals we use are also totally recyclable and nothing is lost during our processing. In fact, every year we recycle 34 tons of shavings and 31 tons of laminated and extruded scrap: in this way, even when things don’t go as expected, we give our metalwork the possibility of a thousand new lives.

And we don’t stop there: our most ambitious goal is to transform ourselves into a 100% plastic free company by 2024. Our team is already equipped with reusable bottles to fill at the water dispensers and thus reduce the internal consumption of plastic, but our biggest challenge will be to also eliminate it from our packaging within the next few years. Because it is the sum of the small actions by companies, individuals and institutions that build a truly sustainable future for everyone.
